Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

Just back from our used vinyl shop and a little poorer!

The Wake......IQ
@uberwaltz

Installed two HFC MC-0.5 wall plugs into my system yesterday. Everything I posted yesterday was heard with their benefit. Really liking what I'm hearing so far!

The store had all 3 perfect circle lps but I balk at paying $35 per album!
So at half price I did not mind but they now only had mer de noms left.
Can’t wait for their new album as the recent teaser tracks are righteous!
Saw them live last year at Rockville.
CSN......Crosby, Stills and Nash
The Tidal MQA master version.
Stellar, nearly as good as the vinyl pressing and much superior to CD version.
Ben Harper/Charlie Musslewhite. "Get Up!"

Eric Clapton "461 Ocean Boulevard"

Rolling Stones. "Goats Head Soup"

all vinyl all the time
I've owned the Perfect Circle lp for years...always thought it sounded good.
Our local FYE had a 50% off sale on some select new vinyl today and I could not resist.....

Dark Adrenaline......Lacuna Coil

Mer De Noms........ A Perfect Circle

Very nice mastering job on both albums and 180g to boot
Unleashed Memories...
Dark Adrenaline...........Lacuna Coil.

A not very well known Italian gothic metal band...sounds like they should be awful but the girl can sing like an angel! Their earlier stuff, 2002 to 2008 is their best imho
Close the night with Retrospective3....Rush.
Been listening to these guys since 74, remember wearing a copy of 2112 out in 76 in the student common room!
I know a lot of love for Glenn Hughes here but top of my mental list when I think bass players comes Geddy Lee, I mean he plays, sings and plays keyboard with his feet !
Alex lifeson also vastly underrated guitarist
Neil peart....what more needs be said about one of the very best drummers in the world
@nutty
Joe was next up on my playlist!
What happens next and then still one of my fave albums of his, Engines of Creation
Joe Satriani, What Happens Next
Joe's newest features Glenn Hughes on bass and Chad Smith on drums.

Today I have been listening to Rainbow - Black Masquerade, Led Zeppelin - I am gonna Leave You,  Bob Seger - Blowing Against The Wind and The Fire Inside. Then I went further a field and Listened to Diamanda Galas - The Iron Lady, what a song and what a singer. Then on to Sains Sans - Dance Macabre and onto Richart Wagner - Siegrfrieds Funeral, that is a piece written by a true musical genius. Then on to Sibelius to his last movement of his First Symphony, not his famous stuff but for me this piece of music has a certain resonance with me.

On all systems...

There is some addictive quality to this crazy music that I must have missed years ago.
pops,
We’re talking close to 20 years ago,
What I remember most about Days of the New was that while the music was great, they were very under produced. They were promoting their first albumn and they were very "raw". The lead singer was grungy, played very aggressively and was barefoot. The songs sounded like the CD but they didn’t have much stage presence. The drum kit was not even elevated. But overall, I like the them live.

@nutty,

I seem to recall an Ed' (solo) record? Have any personal knowledge?
Nutty, how was days of the new live?....love their music wish it was on vinyl!
slaw,
Though I don't have it on LP, Mental Jewelry is a great recording. "Water Boy, " The Beauty of Grey- its all great. I have several of their discs, love em' all.
Caught them live, (no pun intended) in Cincinnati at Coney Island's Riverbend.
Day's of the New was the opening act.

shhhhhh!! don't tell you family your on Audiogon while out there....

I'm listening to Vic Chesnutt's "North Star Deserter" (lp) now. When I found out his stuff was being re-mastered on vinyl I scooped them up quickly.

Slaw - Thanks. I really like it. I'm trying to figure out if I can get home from my annual Colorado Ski Trip a day early to see Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives in the awesome Memorial Hall in Cincinnati.
Internet radio, WCLV, Cleveland,s classical station.
John Abercrombie, “Timeless” and “M”
After waiting since 1991, I finally got...

Live  "Mental Jewelry"  on my tt. always loved their sound and Ed's voice!

The Donnas  "Gold Medal"  (lp)
@pops ,

It's the latest I'm aware of, although I believe it's from 2016 so, I could be wrong. Recommended!
Jeff Beck "Loud Hailer" (lp)

Finally...I have on my tt. I bought this one solely because of the high praise here. Glad I did. Love the female vocals. Wonderful!
