Steve Miller Band - Bingo! (2010)
holy moly!
holy moly!
Whats playing on your system today?
dustin_collman I actually saw The Firm in concert in Cincinnati when they toured. Jimmy and Paul were amazing. They played Kashmir! The Bassist Chris Slade has been around as well. If you like Dokken, check out Lynch Mob. It is a solo project of George Lynch the lead guitarist of Dokken. The first CD, Wicked Sensation is really good. arcamm88, Good call on Golden Earing. Love the band. Also thanks for the recommendation on Nazareth, "Rampant". N |
I don't think I have their Signals album, I'll have to add it to my want list. If I do have it it's probably still packed away. I have about 12 bins full to go through still. Tonights turntable is featuring: 1. The Rolling Stones "Some Girls" (Original Master Recording) 2. Dokken "Tooth and Nail (I'm not sure I've ever heard this band, the album is actually decent.) 3. The Firm "The Firm" (A Firm choice to close the night off) |
I like to mix it up. Today Im into power ballads! Shinedown, "Crow and Butterfly" Check out Shaman's Harvest. They pull off a pretty cool rendition of Jacksons "Dirt Diana". https://youtu.be/1NHV6NUEKNU N |
gshepardbuster - I typically listen to the whole album when I put something on. Heart has a lot of good rhythms and beats that get you going. Tonights turntable featured just 2 artists: 1. Quiet Riot "Mental Health" 2. Rush "Vapor Trails" (if you haven't experienced this on vinyl you are truly missing out, and I'm not talking about the remix.) |
Listening to some old-skool Gay Disco / Hi-NRG with some super bottom-pounding beats right now on my Raidho D3s. Tantra's "Hills Of Katmandu", lots of Patrick Cowley and, of course, his 15min l-o-n-g mix of Donna Summer's "I Feel Love" (what a MEGA classic that is ... 1977... wow). I'm a happily married hetero with 3 kids thanks very much ... but with these bottom-pounding beats pulsating through my groin - I'm thinking of leaving the Mrs, putting on some hot leather pants, don a fetching leather cap, grow a big handlebar moustache, fly down to San Francisco, cruise the streets and hope "to meet some very special friends". |
ghosthouse, I agree, Glenn is definitely channeling Deep Purple. Also Chad Smith appears on drums on tracks 1 and 11. Has anyone ever heard this cover from Glenn? Roxanne, by The Police. https://youtu.be/ppdqN9zOow8 N |
I dropped the needle on Nelly Furtado, "Turn off the Light" (to break in the bass); Warren G, "Regulate...G Funk Era" (kicking it old school rap); Fifth Harmony, "7/27" (to change the mood); and now closing out the night with The Jimi Hendrix Experience, "Are you Experienced?" (200g Audiophile Pressing) I try to listen to every kind of music possible. |
Hey Nutty - Got Resonate cranking now and LOUD. Thanks for your note about it. Playing it the second time now back to back (streaming from Tidal). Not too many things that hold my interest all the way through these days, let alone twice in a row. Not much of metal head and while I hear that in this, it’s well mixed with other influences. Like the "prog" break half-way through Flow and the Deep Purple organ at the start of (Steady?). The chord sequence on the (refrain?) of When I Fall Again is gorgeous. Glenn has got to be pushing 70! Dunno how much they fix his voice in the studio - if at all, but doesn’t sound like he’s lost anything. Got to see if it draws me back over the next few days. Thanks again. It’s a good ’un. PS - Forgot to mention the Hendrix style guitar licks at the beginning of Landmines. More good. |
Glenn Hughes, New Release- Resonate Check it out! https://youtu.be/iRsI-L6F0P8 N ps- Thanks arcamm88 for the GH update |
Leon Bridges - Coming Home (180G vinyl LP) The video for "River", from this album, is moving. Give it a look........ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Hegd4xNfRo |
Don't let the lp above go unnoticed. I did when I first bought it. I was intrigued by the Jenny Lewis & The Watson Twins "Rabbit Fur Coat" lp. (Still one of my favorites). I set this one aside. Now, I am glued to it! There is a Beth Orton vibe going on if you take the time to listen. Sonics are great. Happy Listening! |
