dual volume controls?

I see a few pre-amps with dual volume controls, which I would assume are for true dual mono designs-like the Quicksilver or Audible Illusions Modulus 3A-is dual volume control inherently better? Isnt it a pain in the ass to adjuster each control everytime? Thanks.

I didn't think so. Both preamps I owned with dual volume controls were ladder type with click-stops, so volume matching was very easy. I can see where dual volume controls that are not the ladder type might cause trouble for compulsive personalities who constantly need to fiddle to *exactly* match the left and right channel volume.

In addition, dual volume controls make an effective balance control.
Tbromgard, this thread can probably be wrapped up quickly.

Based on your question, "Isnt it a pain in the ass to adjuster each control every time?", it's probably safe to say that you are predisposed against dual volume controls, and any comments supporting this view will reinforce your viewpoint.

Right?
