Reading threads and posts when selling and buying

I do too. I understand completely and do the same thing myself.

jdombrow: the answer is to see if the seller is an actual audiophile, or just a guy selling stuff he buys at rummage sales.
I usually prefer to buy from another audiophile, and not from a reseller.
Another reason to peruse the threads is one can quickly read if a person is arguementative... Helps to know in advance.
Reading the posts is almost as good as a phone call to feel out what sort of person the seller (or buyer) is..

I do too, but when a person has participated in a large number of threads and hasn't posted their system it makes me very wary.

When buying high priced items from someone, you bet. It gives me a sense of their relibility. (If they have been posting here steadily for years, you can be pretty assured that they are not going to be a scam artist and run off your cash.)

My two cents worth anyway.

this has been my long time double check along with feedback history. I feel a lot more comfortable dealing with someone who posts in the Forums, kinda feels like reading their diary
