Buying a Gold Record?

You can only play it with a gold record player. I think Goldmund makes one.

Those records are for display purpose ONLY. They are a significator that the particular record sold more than XXXcopies. It is only to hang on a wall and NOT to play.
However I do not actually know if then can be played???

Heard a funny story once from the late John Enthwistle of the Who. One night on a drug fueled bender, he decides to take one of his gold records off the wall, breaks the glass and puts it on his turntable only to find out, its a Barbara Streisand (or some such similar non rock performer) He thought it was hilarious...
