It was quite an evening. After all of the opening acts (Joni Mitchell an opening act - too much), the stage darkened and the screaming with mandatory Bic lighter flames began. Singing started and it was instantly recognizable as Dylan and Baez with just their acoustic guitars. The lights came up and the only thing on the stage was two chairs arranged in an "L" shape. In each chair was a person with white face on. It was so startling, at first one could not tell one from the other. Dylan was in good voice that night and the audience was rapt. I had never cared for him and was there to see Mitchell, Baez, Mick Ronson - who was the incredible guitarist on Bowie's "Ziggy Stardust" LP and Ronee Blakely. But Dylan caught hold of me that night and has never let go. I was powerless to resist the beauty and strength of the performance. You would think with all of the other greats on the stage that night he would just meld into the scenery. In truth, all else was gaslight and Dylan held the crowd like no one I have ever seen.
