Mihorn:I'm referring to what I think should be our ultimate reference, live music. I've never come home from a live show and thought about hearing say, cymbals 10' high in a certain part of the stage etc... I'm not trying to degrade your system or what is important to you. I just think we tend to forget that the whole point of the "high-end" is to try and recreate as accurately as possible, a live experience in our own environment! I think this is becoming more and more, the "best" part of this entire experience that is slowly becoming lost. |
06-20-15: Slaw Hi Slaw, You want the band is in your room. Your room is a concert hall. I prefer I am there (concert hall). The recording engineer might be thinking the high cymbals note is a reflection sound from the ceiling of concert hall. We audio enthusiasts are trying to portrait the reproduction music as beautiful (and musical) as possible. I like images in higher and deeper soundstage than flat which crowds the small parts of sound stage. I think higher sound stage is more beautiful as long as they are musical. When sounds are crowded, it is hard to perceive the timber of individual sound and they hurt my ears. Alex/ Wavetouch Audio |
