Should there only be one company making gear?

Since there are such strong feelings regarding audio gear, with one company being right while the others are wrong, would it be easier on our psyche if there were only one company?

For example, one person might love Krell gear while another prefers the Rouge 88. Rather than the two of them fighting or disagreeing about the merits or shortcomings of the other, wouldn't it be easier/better if these conflicts did not exist?

Is it possible that there will ever be a piece of gear on which all audiophiles could agree?

All of you (you know who you are)with the exception of Albert, should be looking out your windows and expecting a van to pull up at any moment. You know the one, two guys in white coats jump out and haul your sorry asses off to the nearest 'facility'.

Jax2-I've been threatened to be yanked by AudiogoN a few times.:>)

I think I saw somewhere in the rule book that states 'no boner jokes allowed'
I guess AudiogoN really went all out and covered all the bases when they became moderated and set up 'the rules'
I wonder where this thread is heading next!
