A'gon Classified or Auction - Which do you prefer?

I very seldom look at the auctions, the opening bid or reserve price is almost always at or above used pricing. It has been my long experience that there are very few bargins in auctions for the buyer, it is a seller's medium.

It's become rare for me to even check the auction section..prices seem higher but I could be wrong.

I prefer classifieds, but have been using auctions lately. Later, I've had too many tire kickers and lowball offers. And, yes, I do use the Orion blue book when listing items in classifieds.

Example: I had a $200.00 cable listed last month in the classifieds for $40 plus shipping. I was getting offers of $20.00 including shipping. I pulled the listing and re-listed it starting at $1.00 ith no reserve; it sold for more than my original asking price in the classifieds.

Classified. I don't look at the auctions. I do auctions on ebay.
