I also use to pipe foam insulation cut into 1/2 inch lengths a supports.. and at cable crossings, both sides get the stuff to keep the wires apart. (I use a bit of tape to keep the little foam chunks in a "8" formation to hold the cables where they are, and the insulators too.

CD Jewel cases with cushions placed on the cables above the jewel cases. Works a treat and finally I have a use for some of the crap CD's that I've bought in the past.

I have 8-10 brown insulaters from power poles. 10-12" diameter.8-10" tall. How much they worth?

i have used soft furniture foam. i think there may be a dampening effect.
