Recently, I sent for a copy of Jim Smith's book " Get Better Sound" @48.50 delivered. Since I started reading Jim's viewpoint I have made significant improvements to my listening room. What about you ? For those that have read the book , please express your viewpoint pro or con.

I went over to Jim's place last winter. He's not too far away and I had read the book.
The book is about as comprehensive and informative as one could imagine. Having recently put together a new system it has been the reference by which I am attempting to bring the room into play, pun intended. After following many of his suggestions things are coming around.
As for the room play reference at his home, well I can only hope to approach that. Holographic and sweet without any artifacts, extremely low noise floor!
If he has time later this year I plan to have him over. Trying to put things in place as to get the most from the session. Highly recommended.
I do have 31 Secrets to better sound, and my only interest is in stereo music.
Do you think there is much more information in the new book (Get Better Sound) or it is in principle the same as 31 Secrets just explained with more details?
Hi Peter

I don't know if there are any digital copies of the book.
I just received Jim's book for Christmas after dropping a very specific hint (leaving his magazine ad torn out on the kitchen counter). I.am only half way through and love it. While I know some things he covers, much I did not know and some tips are good myth busters.

Who knew that moving my speakers closer together could riches the tonal balance? Very cool stuff captured from his long career. Thanks, Jim!
