5814 in a 12au7 socket. . .

Has anybody ever overloaded their power supply when using a 5814 in a designated/designed 12au7 slot? This is piggybacking another related thread about an Audiomat Solfege (my tube guy just told me that there is a "small chance of overloading the power supply," so I'm just checking in about others' experiences).

In my preamp, I tried an RCA 5814A as a sub for the 12au7.   After 100 hours, there was no damage to any circuitry.   It was pulled since the sound wasn't a good complement to my system.   YMMV

Thanks, steakster. I imagine that the small number of responses (you alone) would indicate that most people have NOT overloaded their power supply:-). Much appreciated feedback.

 I used a pair of 5814A's and had very good sonics with no problems.
