Revel salon 2 vs vandersteen 5a carbons

(((Revel by a large margin. I would actually take the Revel's over the vandersteen 7's, The only other speaker that I liked as good or better than the Revel's were the Raidho's that were $110,000. for a pair)))
 
Thats sure funny we just took a pair of Raidos in toward vandersteen 7 MK2s

Perhaps it was the set up, perhaps it was the room but I felt the Salon II's were good but certainly not great. I have not heard the Vandy;s. 

@tooth2thYou may have 300w Mac, I don’t know which model, so it’s current ability is up in the air, especially with maybe the output transformer coupled solid state Mac amps.

The Vandersteen are a far easier load than the Revels, if your Mac can do good current then I would opt for the Revels. But they are a hard load in the 6 bottom octaves.

Wonder why there are so many Salons for sale in the second hand market... almost half the retail price. I sure wished I could afford them.
