martin logan prodigy vs sound lab m-2

i have had every sound lab under the sun and two pair of logans. cls 2s and quest zs. the sound labs always killed the logans in my book, but ml has just built a nice line of speakers. i like the prodigys but still think the labs win. what does everyone else think and why?

Here we are almost 10 years later. I now have owned many soundlabs and Martin logans. I am waiting on my 4th pair of ml prodigys. I own the soundlab m1s with the new px mylar. Let me first say I have owned two pair of nova utopia be speakers ; two pair of utopias and grand bes . I have owned ml summits and the list goes on. I loved all the speakers mentioned. There is something purely magical about a panel not that a great dynamic speaker cannot sound awsome it is just I keep going back to stats. I think soundlabs are eerie as it gets. If the m1s took up less space I would keep them forever. By the way I also owned Maestro utopias. And the grand be might bridge the gap but at what price. What a great hobby.
I owned Prodigy had one of the 1st pairs made. I didnt enjoy my time with them mostly due to having to sort out production issues with ML that should of been worked out before release. I felt like a beta tester. Still once sorted they sounded ok not great this was a pain and I had to do most of this my self including changing out panel twice and woofers in a brand new loudspeaker. I got so fed up I begged my dealer for a return and they allowed it. No more ML products for me I'm done. Go sound lab.
I'm rather embarrassed by how promotional my post from 2001 now reads. I try not to do that any more.

Duke
Duke, nothing to apologize for. BTW, your posts always make me drool for a Sound Lab. If I could only place them within 2.5 feet of rear wall (and had the cash, LOL), I'd grab a pair tomorrow.
Duke it's kewl. We can all relate to writing about gear we're passionate about.

I second Jeffkad, and personally if I could afford SL's I'd likely not be living with ML's. Nothing against my CLS', but we know it's not a true full range ESL. But w/a sub it's not a bad poor man's setup.
