In fact, assuming an ideal gas, the speed of sound c depends on temperature only, not on the pressure or density (since these change in lockstep for a given temperature and cancel out). Air is almost an ideal gas.

Temperature is merely a byproduct of energy contained within a volume under pressure. Temperature is a lot easier to say than describing the average velocity of individual molecules. So while you claim air is a motionless mass, here you are trying to explain exactly why it's not and how important that fact is.

kross_emoji, if the air in the room had any motion your hair (assuming you have any hair) would be blowing in the wind. Besides the speed of sound at Standard temperature pressure is calculated for STILL air, not moving air. If the air is moving the speed of sound is a different number. Hel-loo! Thus, you argument is a logical fallacy. Case closed. Go back to school, get money back.

All you're talking about is relativistic motion to other objects. You seem to have no grasp on the science. It's all kinetic motion. You make distinctions where none exist. You don't seem to understand the mechanism that drives sound through air. Go back to your magic rocks and blue dots.
