I have owned Magnepan 3.6 for 7 plus years.
(never have blown a fuse)
Several years ago i ran shorting wires across the fuses
Then actually went under the rear plate and skipped the midrange fuse in a way it can be put back.
I use the ’coil tweak’ in the tweeter jumper position. So I left that in place
I am buying some 20.7s and they are on order as I wait patently...
Looking at a copy of the inside of the panel on the 20.7 I see the wiring ends could be just moved over, to bypass the jumpers altogether.
(the nice thing is they are easy to put back to stock.Just take off two nuts and move one wire back.
So why bother with jumpers at all?
(taking the rear panel off take like one minute) There is plenty of room to pull out a few inches away from the back.
As for the fuses.. plan on leaving them stock for the first year....
And maybe after I own the 20.7 for several years, I would just hard wire the jumper with a splice.. ??
As for the sound with my 3.6? Yes there was a bit of greater clarity.
I certainly will bypass the midrange jumper at some point on the 20.7 (if they ever get here)
