April 23,2018. Enjoyed the sound field and clarity of a solo piano from the best front row seat in a great venue yesterday. I’d like to update this thread as many new offerings have hopefully raised the bar. I understand a symmetrically balanced large isolation transformer is perhaps most efficient and best for “common mode” ac noise. I’m open to all new technologies as innovation is our never ending ally. I’m particularly interested in units/technologies addressing “differential mode” ac noise. Cheers! to silencing ubiquitous ac line line, both incoming and “within” our systems. Thanks for your contribution.

I have tried a number of them, even at shows. Most of them reduce dynamics or create overly warm, unnatural sound. The best for digital is the VHaudio Plasmatron. It is not a filter or a regenerator. It is an AC voltage regulator. Two new things. If one uses a Toslink. I have to say Toslink from Lifatec is better. Yeah it costs around $80 to $120 but it really is better. Second I am buying a new SACD/CD/DAC player. Marantz Sa-10. Auditioned one for five days. $7000. Ouch. But I am buying one. Finally my Digital is better than my Turntable. etc. I do not plan on using the 110hz on the marantz. A few $$ who cares, but $7K I care about (not) experimenting. |
