Axpona 2018 Integrated Mastersond BoX
Has anyone seen any reviews on this new Tube Integrated (35W Class A). I heard it at Axpona 2018 in the Audio Thesis room #1520. Skip was demoing the piece, it was very impressive. Did anyone visit the room and hear the BoX, if so would like to hear what you thought about it. Believe it was $3,000? Does include a Phono MM.

I demoed "The Box" for almost a week. It is absolutely awesome. If I didn't have so much gear already, I would have kept it. I absolutely love the EL34 sound, but this is even better. More ballsy, more powerful, huge 3D sound. Easily drove my Revel Studio2 and JBL 4367. MastersounD has a winner with this one. Skip is an awesome dealer. Totally straight up, no BS. |
I have had the BOX, for a few months now. Love it, juicy tube sound, very punchy, great detail and depth. Pairs with the Sopra 2’s very well, so warm. Also very loud for 35 Watts, the unit can really rock or deliver delicate jazz nuanced trio music and anything in between Very versatile and delivers all formats very well. A steal at its current price. Stacks up very well and is a worthy alternative to my SS Integrated (Sim 700i) at a fraction of the price, when I want to go Tube/Vinyl. Also has a nice synergy with my Joseph Audio speakers. Added bonus Skip is a great guy to deal with. Highly recommended. |
