Looking For 90% of the performane of the super expensive cables for much less money

One thing becomes clear reading this thread...Everyone has their own favorite cable, and they recommend it wholeheartedly. It kind of helps one realize cables are a kind of doppelganger of People. takes all kinds..                   
One other (random) thing I would say is KCAG, once a pride of Kimber is totally outdated. I sold off any I had ten years ago. Plenty of mid priced cables kill KCAG. Someone several posts prior mentioned they got some KCAG and were wowed... yeah how long ago, twenty years? Twenty five? thirty?             
Another way to see what cables have the 'it' power, to be worth keeping. If not, they end up for sale. So if you read the for sale ads for cables. all those odd names... One person companies making 'giant killer' IC. If they are so giant, why would anyone sell them? OR are they the 'flavor of the month' and get bought and sold by the folks craving a new fix. Just a few thoughts.

I have a pair of .5 Meter KCAG that I now use between my Tortuga Premp and Herron phono stage and it was a step up from the Silver Streaks that I had been using for the last couple years.

Hello Kjl1065, I have put together something that sounds great. I’ve compared it to MIT 770s and it is just as clear with great bass and is actually better in the treble.

Run these sidebyside and connect them together to amp and speakers. 
Both are solid core and in my experience, solid core sounds better as a speaker cable. Images are more focused. 

Blue Jean Cables.  I am of the school that claim cables do make a difference.  The differences are very dependent on the system.  Proper AWG for speakers is important, and length makes a difference (mostly in rolled-off high end).  Capacitance can be important, especially at very low signal levels (phono stage, for example).  But if you are only shooting for 90%, anything will do.  Blue Jean cables will get you to around 98%.
