I just wanted to note a couple of amusing coincidences:
> and a set of uni-q that were overdriven with a 1,000 watts of power.
First: I recently blew my KEF Ref3 uni-q drivers by overdriving them with Bel Canto Ref 1000s, in a mishap that involved switching between sources with vastly different gain levels on the preamp. They're at KEF in Marlborough NJ now getting repaired.
I don't think I told @audiotroy about that, so it must be a different victim he's talking about. But when I was thinking about buying them new I did listen to them at his shop. He might come off here as a self-absorbed know-it-all, but most of us come off worse online than we are in real life. And in real life, that fella is a prince. I enjoy his posts and appreciate his advice.
Second: I bought those used KEF Ref 3 speakers from the OP @mountainsong who is also, by the way, a prince of a fella.
