Tekton Electron has been released

As expected, the Tekton Double Impact received a 5 star rave-up from Home Theatre Review. The reviewer made mention of a smaller version for those of us with smaller rooms. I shot Eric Alexander an email at about 8:30 last night and was surprised to receive a reply a few minutes later. He said that the scaled down version, which he named the Electron, had just gone live on his website a few minutes earlier.

I haven't heard any of his speakers yet, but I am really curious, especially about this one. I'm sure that conspiracy theorists will have plenty to say about the reviewer, and the weird patent (they already have savaged the patent, and I don't really blame them), but I am not as suspicious as some, and I think these speakers must be pretty good, or they wouldn't keep getting such enthusiastic reviews from users as well. I want to hear these speakers!

Congratulations, Eric.

Parasound's [with Tekton Design Electron SE speakers] room was one of the few with a system that cost between $5,000 and $20,000. Yet, it sounded oh so musical.

It's nice and reassuring to see how much can be accomplished with a 'reasonable' budget. The next level and up (for best system sound) are way, way out of my reach.

But the article goes on to say:

No, this is not an audiophile statement system, but it is one I enjoyed listening to music on.

Yeah, I enjoy listening to music in my car, too, but that's not where I want to listen for long periods of time. ;-)

Remember that not many on these forums have "statement systems." I thinks it's pretty rare. In the meantime, enjoyable systems are interesting and desirable to most of us.

Not really. I've said very little. In fact, I pretty much closed my own topic in the other thread. I haven't posted anything in quite a while. It's just that the last bit I felt was particularly laughable. Of course, 99% audio reviewers are fairly laughable when you look at them in context to all other reviews. Everything is a sell. If it weren't so then there would be a lot more truth-in-audio out there. 

As-is, both the good and the bad are determined by experiential knowledge. The article could have been talking about Magico and I still would have laughed.

When I heard Cat Stevens in the Parasound room with the Electron SEs I enjoyed the best renditions of "Where do the children play" and "Hard headed woman" I got at the show. Exciting dynamics, drum kit impact, beautiful guitar, and his voice was just perfect and dead center, superb room.
