WHAT WAS THE BEST SYSTEM YOU EVER HEARD AND WHY WAS IT?

Raidho 5.1 Solutions 7 series mono amps and pre amp and CD player and all ansuz cabling. It was the best because it had everything. Huge sound soundstage. Musical with airy treble and open midrange. Nice full bass and transparency. All placed in an acoustically treated and measured room. System belonged to the late Dave Baskin of Design Audio Video in Whitehouse Texas. It was Audio Nirvana!

My own system. (I know I should not state that here, as I will expose myself to criticism and people telling me being arrogant.) Never mind, I’m a happy man ;)

Back in the mid 90s Harold Youngblood, Youngblood Systems in Oklahoma City, was a good friend of mine. His high end was Audio Research and Vandersteen. He had a new Cd transport and dac set up and invited customers over for a listening session. Music was jazz. I remember sitting there staring at the speakers trying to tell my brain that is where this sound is coming from to no avail. The sound was everywhere, the soundstage incredibly real. I will never forget it.

A couple weeks later Bob Funk (cattleman, express personnel) walked in, heard the system, wrote a check, purchased the whole system for his bedroom.

Maggie MG3, driven by Dussun V8i. NAD CD player...crappy Music Hall table. It was glorious. Wish I still had it.
