I'm suspecting by now you have discovered that the new sonos software allows anyone with the sonos ap on their smart phone to play music off their phone on your system. Pretty cool.......they must have been listening to you in July
Sonos and iTunes
I have the Sonos Connect and a Bridge connected to a NAS drive (LG 2TB). Everything is working perfectly. I connected both units with ethernet cables as I had them run anyway to my rack. I go analogue out to my multi Channel Cary Amp to play music outdoors and I go digital to my Theta Pre/Pro to play music on my main stereo when I am too lazy to pop a CD into my player. I use the Sonos App on my droid phone to play all my music. My wife and daughter just love the Sonos App on their iPhones they are always changing my music selections the little brats! Perhaps I gave them too much power.
As I do not have any experience with iTunes I’d like to help my daughter play her songs from iTunes (Not from her hard drive) through the Sonos. Can someone please give me step by step instructions on how to do this? I have read the instructions on the Sonos site but i just don’t get it.
Thanks you very much!

use musconv tool to transfer music files from one platform to other such as amazon music to spotify, tidal to spotify, amazon music to google play music and more - www.musconv.com |
Digital files purchased and downloaded from iTunes are protected by FairPlay DRM technology, if you would like to play them via Sonos app, you need to use DRM Audio Converter for Windows to unlock this limitation and convert iTunes audio files to Sonos compatible audio format. And then you will freely listen to iTunes files on Sonos. |
As I know, iTune music is in AAC codec and M4A format, you may not enjoy iTunes songs on sonos. I'd suggest you to convert iTunes music to mp3, then you will be able to able to enjoy it on sonos. |
Sonos Connect has very high jitter to be feeding to a DAC:
Synchro-Mesh can reduce this to 7psec, lower than ANY CD transport. You want Sonos to sound better than a CD player? The Synchro-Mesh can do this. Steve N. Empirical Audio |
