Protecting Cords and Cables From Cats

I found a great way to protect my electrical cords and cables on my stereo system and my computer from my cats.

My husband has sleep apnea and uses a BIPAP machine. I take his used hoses, cut a slit down the side, and put the hose over the cord or wire. It works great.

If you use a CPAP/BIBPAP machine or have a friend/relative who does, ask them for their used hoses. Insurance replaces them on a fairly frequent basis and the person will probably be glad to find a good use for the hoses other than throwing them away.

My cat Chandler used have foam balls to play with. He loved that he could bite them and sink his claws into them. I loved them because they bounced and were fun to play with (with Chandler) and they didn't break things when tossed in the house. You can check and buy BPAP machine (info right here) that has more protective cables and your dog or cat will never damage it.

Kittens especially like to chew cables.

My cockatiel (bird) likes to chew the AC zip cords. So lamps, etc are all in danger. I used Teflon pipe tape the heavier blue variety and wrapped where he had chewed. Then rolled up soft paper towels (Viva) and taped them over the exposed cords, wrapping all 'extra' cord around the base. He leaves the paper covered cords alone. 
I wrapped the Kimber 8TC speaker cable up just in case..  
The fine turntable wires are a dread to think if he bit one even once. Poof. So I have objects around the back of the arm to physically prevent him from reaching them.
