Stolen thread and all, Interesting. As for a foil ribbon tweet, yeah it is great, except if you sneeze on it..'poof' no more ribbon (that works, anyway) if you keep from moving enough external air to pop the ribbon, all is well.
I own Magnepan 3.6s i bought new nine months ago. I love them. I had some Infinity RSIIa and liked the dipole a lot, had them almost twenty years. Then some box speakers.. ahhh glad i went back to a dipole, and I like my Maggies, delam or not. But never know I might buy the new 3.7s... sigh..
As for the two issues: delam. Delam has NOT stopped Magnepans from having one of the highest resale value. Delam is a PITA, but repair can be done dirt cheap, or send them to Magnepan for repair.
And making them better: If they made them so they would please the perfectionist build quality freaks, they would cost three times what they do. So I have no complaints about build, as they are considered to be one of the best values at thier price point around,(and is probably why they command such a high resale value)
