Magnepan 3.7 speakers + Audio Research Ref 75 amp

Magnepan speakers have an average impedance of ~4 ohms and generally need LOTS of power. Tube amps rated at under 100 watts need not apply. So I'm told. I've also heard that Magnepan and ARC have a synergy that may be hard to beat, though I can not say I have ever listened to this combo.

So, my question is, would a 75 amp from ARC (with a power supply storage of 520 joules) be sufficient for the 3.7 Maggies in an 18' by 30' room? Has anyone heard or heard of this combo before?

Thanks in advance!

I have a dual mono version of the Odyssey Stratos (2 mono blocks in one enclosre) powering my 3.7's. I couldn't be happier.

I used to have a pair of Accustat IVs that I drove with an ARC Classic 60. Nice within its power range for sure. Then one night a friend brought over a pair of Van Alstine 200 watt amps with Van Alstine's bridging devise. We hooked everything up and with the bridged amps we were getting around 800 WPC. Oh MY GAWD! Nirvana! If I owned a pair of the new Maggies, I'd go with that same Van Alstine setup.
