Can anyone suggest a good universal headshell?

Sumiko ... it permits azimuth adjustment which is NOT a trivial advantage.

Sumiko used to sell some really rigid headshells with az adjust. Look out for some. Also Sumiko used to sell really good ofc cartridge wires (same as the old Fulton). These will upgrade almost any headshell.

Bobo, don't tease me man. Zaikes, I have two of the later model, one piece Technics and they are great, I was looking to see if I could squeeze a little more out, or perhaps just a different flavor. Patrick, cartridges are Denon 103D, Shure V15lll and V15V, Ortofon Super OM-30 and various Grados. I have a Stanton 881S on the way as well. Tom and Muz, I have looked at the Sumiko HS-12 and it looks just great, now to find one. Tom, great to have someone contributing so much to the advancement of analog weigh in on my little thread. Azimuth is not an issue, as the arm has a very good built in azimuth adjustment with a grub screw.

You can find the Sumiko HS-12 at Acoustic Sounds, Music Direct and Needle Doctor for $40. I would buy from Acoustic Sounds because they do a great job stocking all that delicious new vinyl.

I took a look at the Sumiko on the Web. The screw slots aren't intented on top, which I like. Too bad it lacks an integral finger-lift, is there a screw-down type that can be added onto the flat top?
