The prize for "The Most Seamless Transition" between movements goes to Jean Sibelius for his 2nd Symphony, movements 3 and 4. Okko Kamu on DG or Barbirolli on Chesky

Melodic - Beethoven's Fifth Piano Concerto - The Emperor, too many to list

Dramatic - Mendelssohn's Symphony in A Minor, 'The Scotch', Peter Maag, or Mahler's 2nd, 'Resurrection', Fischer

Rushton - nice to the see a list with several Brits on it - Holst, EJ Moeran, Finzi, et al

Tim

Hi Tim, we do enjoy the 20th century British composers here. And so much seems to fit in to what I think Phasecorrect is asking for.
Would second Jtimothya on his melodic choice but would be willing to specify Emil Gilels, almost any version, his playing had a romantic lyrical ring on almost anything he played including the slow movement of a haydn piano concerto in D, sorry to provide a tangential movement from the main theme
