do NOT read if finicky... (i warned you!)
Your body has the secret product to get any sticky sticker stuff off.
Nose grease. not inside, OUTSIDE of your nose, grease.
Take your finger, rub a little nose grease off nose onto finger, rub sticky goo. Then use a paper towel. Notice the nose grease dissolves the goo. It may take a few daubs and rubbing, but it is free, and does the job in a pinch.
I still have a greasy face at 60+ years old. i do not remember who told me this,, some old bofriend in the mists of prehistory. i actually do it, as yucky as that sounds, because it works. (better to use the 'hair of the dog' method below, but for old sticky stuff, nose grease does the trick)
Another method is "hair of the dog" sticker sticky removal: the sticker still has some sticky left on it and the other part is on the product. USE that sticker's remaining sticky part and tap it against the sticky spot on the product. The sticky crap on the product will adhere to the goo on the sticker, and with perisitence, all the goo will transfer off the product onto the sticker.
Very useful for those crappy CD sealant stickers on the top of CD cases. Most used LP stickers too.
I TOLD you all I am cheap as can be...
This was a fun post to write. 8^)
