Cable Elevators - What do you use?

In my experience, Yogurt cupss are good, but I have found that Edy's ice cream containers work even better, especially if they are painted in day-glo orange. The best cable elevators that I have used are some old bowling pins that I was lucky enough to purchase from the estate of a recently deceased audiophile that was also a 200 average bowler.

Thinking about the ideal cable elevator and being cheap lead me to this idea:
empty tape packing rolls (basically a two inch or so diameter two inch wide tube made of cardboard. Cotton string cut into equal lengths. use three or four lengths of string to form loops around the width of the tube that allow another cotton string circle to hold the cable centered in the tube. Make a bunch of these. (Hmmm...Sell them.. Make more.. make them out of Ebony and special Golden high Andes Mystical Llama hair/Endangered elephant eyelash whatever, charge $200./$400. each.. become wealthy off fools parting with thier money...}
The way to tie the stringlet around the tube is?? punch a hole and put the knot inside? Glue the string to the outside? Anyway, another good idea I will never fulfill.
But whare can I find a pile of empty packing tape rolls.. And the Llama hair?

Elizabeth, you can get the Llama hair from Napoloean Dynamite. He lives in Idaho. If you can't get a hold of him, check with his brother Kip (he's usually surfing the web for ladies, he may find you). The packing tape rolls you can probably score from Uncle Rico.

I use beer/soda cuzzi's. They made no difference in the sound. No money lost though. I personally think some of these tweaks go a little too far. Or maybe my system isn't at the quality level to realize such tweaks.
