Anyone tried pro-audio XLR mike cable in system ?

I was wondering if anyone had experience using pro-audio XLR cable. You know, the ugly ones with the black rubber skin.

I think that expensive microphones (think large sensitive diaphrams) need revealing cables to carry the nuances and detail....especially for recording.

The connectors are obviously rugged...how about the cable's ability to pass on a signal in an audiophile system?

I tried an ''el cheapo'' one the other day, and frankly, it was above my expectations.

I have. 30 foot runs of both Mogami and Gotham Audio star quad mic cable with Neutrik connectors. They sounded very good.

I have also used a 30 foot run of Gotham Audio GAC4/1 with Neutrik XLR on one end and Eichmann Silver Bullet RCA connectors on the other. This also sounded quite good.

I use MarkerTek pro XlR cables and they work great!

They use silver soldered Canary Star Quad cable with Neutrik connectors and cost less than $15 each in 1 meter lengths.

I use a 30 foot run of Monster cable Performer 500 with XLR connectors.Mcintosh 2300 tube preamp Macintosh 402 power amp I love the sound.

wondering which Mogami is star quad?

30 ft XLR to RCA...u notice any weaker mid and high ?

what to be connected?
