Well yeah, a pecking order can be established.
1) source to preamp interconnect
___a) if have turntable, the table to phono is the most critical
___b) if DAC, CD transport to DAC, then DAC to Preamp
2) Preamp to Amp interconnect/or speaker wires
3) the other of preamp to amp/speaker wires
4) then a power cord, start with amp
5) then preamp power cord
6) then source power cords.
7) consider a power conditioner as an alternative to starting with power cords. However a conditioner is harder to impliment correctly. So I would do the power cords before the conditioner, but either power cords or a power conditioner can do a lot for a system
Others may argue, but this is a good system of adding wires.
