The Se is different. I bought a few of them, swapped them all over my system. found I liked the AC9SE on my Furman REF20i conditioner, hated it on the PS Audio Conditioner. OK on theamp, but better on my preamp and the regular AC9 on my amp wit the one on the pre...
So no, they are not just straightforward.. AC9 AC9SE more AC9. nope.
So all in all i would say the Pangea AC9SE are a 'try them to see' sort of cord.
Where I would recommend the Pangea AC9 to anyone trying an aftermarket cord for the first time. The AC9SE is a far more specialized beast.
I like it, but it took a lot of fooling around to find the best locations.
So the Pangea AC9SE is more like other high end powercords.. you have to experiment, and it can be a big reward. OR, it can suck.
I was suprised what a big upgrade it was onthe Furman. and also suprised how it sucked on the PS Audio..
