Amazing Album Sides

There are amazing album sides that rock and swing from the first song through the last. The albums they come from are usually outstanding, but one side seems to get played over and over.

I'm going to start with a somewhat obscure and less obvious choice...Talking Heads' "Remain In Light" Side 1: "Born Under Punches (The Heat Goes On)", "Crosseyed and Painless", "The Great Curve".

Which one does it for you?

Jaybo..very observant.

Patty Smith "Easter" side 1.

Usually play side 1 first. Most of the time I just flip them over and listen to both sides
Several titles come to mind:

By far the greatest, Abbey Road, Side 2. The music is timeless.

DSOTM - Pink Floyd - Both sides. I wore quite a few vinyl and cassette copies out over the years. Now I have it on SACD and 30th Anniversary vinyl.

Boston - Boston - Side 1

Aqualung - Jethro Tull - Side 1 - Beautiful, gritty and melodic.

Aja - Steely Dan - Both sides. Truly their best effort.

David Arkenstone - Everything he recorded on the Narada label still gets a LOT of spin here.

Selling England By The Pound - Genesis - Side 1. Puts me into a trance.

Resurrecting this old thread rather than starting a new one.

This past Tuesday night our music group gathered at my home and among the LPs were the old Jim Morrision, Doors “An American Prayer.”

I can hardly believe it was released way back in 1978 and I recall much controversy, some even calling it “A rape of Jim Morrison.”

Regardless of those times it still moves me today, the Doors remain one of my all time favorite rock bands and this LP is too often overlooked.
Nice job reviving this one, Albert, so I'll go with one of your favorite bands:

Side two of Eels' "Daises of the Galaxy". Whiile you can make a case for a bunch of Eels/M. O. Everitt sides, I think this is my favorite Great from start to finish IMHO.

From the mid '60s thru mid 70s, a bunch of bands got hot and produced a string of great side; Beatles, Stones, Zep, and a few other already mentioned are good examples. Given my own fixation with them, I also gotta mention the 8 side streak that Fleetwood Mac produced from their Eponymous LP thru Tusk.

So, I'll take some liberties and extend the thread to include consecutive sides of great music. I'd guess that many folks would add Dylan, CSNY, and The Who to the list. The prog rock runs from Yes and Genesis, the punk run from The Clash, and a bunch of other genre specific stuff probably deserves mention, too.

However, one sleeper candidate for "Mother of All Hot Streaks" was Creedence Clearwater's 10 side streak in the 24 month period starting in July, 1968:

CCR
Bayou Country
Green River
Willy and the Poor Boys
Cosmo's Factory

I don't think there's a weak side in the bunch. Im sure you can make a case for others, but this was all within 2 years. IMO, this be the most prolific run in rock n roll history.
