living by the sea

I have been living by the sea for 8 years. Corrosion has been a minor problem. Keeping connections clean and air con regulated is a must.

I live about 4 to 5 blocks from the beach. And I'd say that, as far as I know, this has had no impact on my electronics. At best, once in a BLUE MOON, I use De-oxit to clean my jacks, but whatever is on there I can't say whether it is from the beach or just normal wear and tear.

OTOH. I do know that wood blinds are not recommended for my area because I'm told (when I was buying new blinds), that the salt area hardens and then causes the wood to break. And, I have to have the sensors replaced periodically for my garage door and am told that it is because of the salt air -- but, I also have to say that I don't know whether that one is B.S. or not.

Thank you,you've helped a lot.At the end of the day,I cant let some salt spray,stop the good sounds.Special electrical spray,should hinder any oxidations.

Just rinse your components off with good, clean fresh water every so often and you'll have no corrosion problems.
