Dedicated circuit

Wonder how many folks put in a dedicated line for their hifi. I added a 20 amp home run years ago, cost under $200 and the results were incredible. I swore off high priced power cords after that.

I Googled 'isolated ground' electrical systems to familiarize myself with it . Then I called an electrician and used my google knowledge to make sure that he did know what to do . I had to let one electrician go because he did not know how to do it . I then wound up having to hire a commercial electrician . Make sure that the isolated ground system grounding rod is at least 6 feet away from the original household one.

Saki70,

Isolated ground rod?

Could you be more specific of the wiring method used?

Is the ground rod an isolated earth ground separate from the main electrical grounding system of the electrical service of your home?

Just a FWIW: the way the equipment is designed relative to ground is a lot more important than the grounding in the building!
I have two dedicated lines. It didn't make as big a difference as adding a PorterPort and PSAudio Power Port to them. But I do live in the boonies so not so much grunge on the lines.
"What's your checklist of instructions for the electrician when doing the install? I've seen other threads on this."

My instructions are to do the install. I always provide everything. They only provide labor. I do dictate the pathway but after that, what is there? I like to keep it loose and no tywraps and run a pull wire.
