Average "audiophile" power cords cost about $300, and top of the line ones into thousands. But no cord, however much it is shielded or how low its resistance, is better than no cord at all. So why spend so much when hard wiring is such a simple thing to have done?
Hard wiring may be 'fun' once. But when you want to change something it gets annoying pretty fast. I would never (again) hard wire anything. It may seem fine to do 'today' but 'tomorrow' (maybe the day after tomorrow.. or next year, or the year after that) you will realize why it really sucks and is totally stupid.
