Electric Bill

How much is your electric bill for this great hobby?
Mine is around 150.00 out of a 250.00 bill a month.

A thread about a guy with four big Pass Class A amps and he left them on 24/7
Until he got his first electric bill and near fainted.
He started turning them off after that mind blowing electric bill.
I take my increased electric bill as a part of my hobby.
I used to leave my system playing all day while at work so my pets would be happy.
Now i listen at least 12 hours every day.. So leaving the stuff on 24/7 is easy to excuse.
I might feel different if the added cost was a hundred bucks or more though..
Buconero117,

I would think that every dime we save on stuff like electricity we can send on equipment or software.
I really like to spend money but I dislike wasting even more. Unless of course you are in the 1% bracket.
All I know, is compared to similar homes in my area, my bill is way higher. For me it's part of the price of being an audiophiile and lover of music. Maybe $100 per month.
One point is the actual reason to leave the stuff on 24/7 is for some listeners it really does sound better.
Others can turn on the equipment and it sound great after a short time.

For me it takes at least a few hours to sound good after a cold start, and after 24 hours it sounds even better.
So leaving it on IS like an equipment upgrade!!!
And is the ONLY reason I leave it all on.
If you don not hear a differnce, then you may as well turn it off between listening sessions.
I got the Goldcard from them and when I visit them, I always get serviced by 3L (Long Legged Linda) the Hot Rod among their secretaries. I love Class A units.
