Best amp under $6k, in your opinion?

If the Nuforce competed with tubes I would certainly try it, but it would be a first.

While they are very good in their own right, you would be disappointed by the NuForce amps in comparison to your tube amps.

I think so to. I've tried, but SS just doesn't do it for me; although I realize that some speakers just can't sound there best with tubes and demand the use of SS, with the exception of a few high powered, high current tubes amps - which isn't necessarily the best approach to appreciating what tubes can do.

go vintage. consider the conrad johnson mv 125. it is my favorite amp. i can't think of any current production amp i would rather own than the mv 125.

A couple more choices in this range are the Ayre V-1xe and parasound JC-1s. I prefer the Ayre, but if you need more power the JC-1s will do it.

Good options Tom. The Ayre especially has always interested in light of comments made by Ayre users.
