Class D question...............

Hi Jw, I am building UCD700HG monos with the HxR regulators. I just sold my UCD700AD monos.

I agree with the tube preamp. I also use a tube preamp. I have a modified Audio Mirror Pp1. The system sounds great! It is very revealing, but smooth.

I didn't mean mute sorry, I meant moot. I am stupid like that sometimes. So any discussion on a year or older class D amp should be moot.

This may well be where I am headed some day when the time comes for a juicier amp in my system.

At the moment (never mind the recently departed amps), I have the following amps in rotation (in one system or another) - Cary 805, Cary 300b, TAD Hibachi Monos, Prima Luna 7 monos, ARC VT 130SE, Pancor Dyna re-issues, Pathos Classic One, a Magnum integrated (model???) and Bel Canto 300 integrated (class D). This speaks not only to a diseased mind, but also a certain amount of context. IMHO, with the right speakers (currently SF Cremonas), the Bel Canto is a wonderful sounding amp.

Bel Canto makes some nice stuff. I believe they use ICE from B&O in their class D amps. The Hypex (UCD), imho sound better. Try a Channel Island D-200 amp. The Channel Island amps may not be using the newest HG modules from Hypex. I'm not sure.
