Specs on PSE Studio Mark IV

Hi folks,

I have a PSE Studio Mark IV driving my Thiels that I am happy with. I am playing around with putting a simple preamp in place of my receiver (Outlaw 1050).

One option that I'm considering is going passive so that my cd player has a more direct connection to the amp.

But, I don't have any literature on the amp. Does anyone have the specs on this amp that they could share with me to help in matching for impedence and capacitance? (which I think are the critical aspects of matching for a passive system if I understand all that I've been reading)

My cd player is the NAD 540 which has 2.2 volt output with 300 ohm impedance.

Anyone else gone passive into the PSE?

I'm also considering a small tube preamp and am toying with the idea of DIY for either the passive or the tube.

Rleff, thanks for submitting Deans phone number. PSE is the kind of gear that makes this hobby enjoyable. Some of the newer gear that I have had does not posess the musicality of the PSE. Musical is the key word. I am also impressed with the bass power & headroom of the PSE Studio IV amp.

Unsound if more folks knew how good the PSE Studio SL preamp is for the price, that preamp would be gone yesterday, although I believe that's an auction.

I owned the PSE Studio IV amplifier and PSE Studio SL Preamplifier many years ago. I wish I still had them. PSE was a great company and so were their products. Is PSE still in business?

Hgeifman last I knew it was not but when I talked with Dean in 2010 we was still supporting his products so thats why I put up his contact data if people needed it.
