Manley Snapper Owners - what tubes?

Tried almost all current production EL34s. Preferred the EH6ca7 with the Harbeth SHL5's and the Tungsol with the Harbeth M40.1's. Liked both of these more than the winged "C" el34 tubes. I liked the GE7044 tubes over all the other 5687 varients i tried. But would probably like the bendix 6900 more if I had them. Used them in other things in the past and thought they were the best of the 5687 family. Like the older Mullard 12at7 more than the current production tubes out there. email if you want any more info. Happy New year!

Can you be specific about the characteristics that the tubes you liked brought to the table and the characteristics that you didn't like about the Winged "C"?

My system likely varies considerably from yours with the Harbeth speakers. Therefore, some description is helpful, i.e. "they were to bright, they lacked bottom end, they weren't well controlled", etc.
