Dual volume control - it should be standard

Why don't they all make preamps and integrateds like that?
Recently I got Redgum integrated with volume control for each channel. What a difference. You just do it by ear for every recording or even individual tune. Simple and great idea.

Inna - Why would you need to adjust for each album or song??
I have found that moving one speaker in or our, left or right by only a few inches will compensate for room or hearing differences. Set that and forget that. Forever.
Dual volume controls are the only way to go. You can dial in the soundstage until it's 3D, and it's like you can reach out and touch the performers. I've never been able to do that with a single balance control
Orpheus10, I hardly think it's the dual volume controls creating the effect you mentioned.
They certainly make the presentation of space more correct.
I don't often use them for each individual cut unless something is very wrong but always do for each recording. And, yes, especially for analog recordings or those digital transfers that tried to preserve as much of the original recording as possible including noise and unbalanced channels.
