For those lucky enough to live in a town that still has one...
gdoodle
Newbury Comics in Mass will have 20% off all vinyl.
Thier last sale a couple of weeks ago I picked up some Classic Records red boxes for 32% off.
Here in Eugene, OR we are blessed to have two great and independent vinyl stores, CD World and House of Records both have a great selection of new and used vinyl.
Elizabeth,
I would not count Goodwill out just yet.
Yesterday I picked up 2 mint Nat King Coles and better yet a VG+ original Royal Ballet Gala Preformances by Ernest Ansermet, this is second one I have found at Goodwill.
I drive alot for work & go to all Goodwill and Morgan Momorials I find on my travels. They only charge a dollar around here for records so it's worth the trip.
I understand goodwill has LPs others may find attractive. I, however, have all the classical LPs I want (about 2,200) and had been working on my Jazz for a few years. Now I have about 1,700 Jazz LPs, and what I do not have, and actually want, is not going to be at Goodwill. Ditto Rock, which I have about another 2,200 Lps currently. I have been concentrating on gathering Rock I 'missed' listening to since 1985 (when I stopped watching MTV videos..). So I skip Goodwill because at this point I really doubt Goodwill is going to have the sort of stuff I would actually buy.
Such as my recent LP purchases second hand
Public Image LTD: Second Edition
The Loud Family: Plants and Birds and Rocks and Things
Robert Fripp: League of Gentlemen
Ghost: Snuff Box Immanence
Elvis Costello: ten Bloody Marys and ten How's your Fathers
Level 42: Staring at the Sun
Kraftwerk: Radioactivity (german pressing)
Any Trouble: Where are all the Nice Girls?
Captain Beefheart: Doc at the Radar station
Shellac: At Action Park
Now if THIS sort of stuff is at YOUR Goodwill... then you are blessed beyond all others..
I have never seen anything remotely like them at the several in my area.
