Look for Susan Rhatigan's "To Hell with Love" ... blues-pop-rock, kind of a refined Janis Joplin sound.
Savoy Brown - the version that made "Raw Sienna". Have to agree with Blind Faith, Little Village and Derek and the Dominos for fantastic one offs.

Also, the first touring version of Steely Dan - circa "Can't Buy a Thrill". This is a hard one because Fagen and Becker have been around so long, but this particular band was an inspiration.
The Commitments
Moby Grape
Blind Faith
Mountain
Big Brother and The Holidng Company (Janis Joplin)
Blind Faith, Jimi Hendrix Experience, and last, but certainly not least, Rick and the Raiders for that beloved classic, Hang on Sloopy! After all, one can hardly call tBDBitL from tOSU a short lived band. Oops, maybe I'm posting this on the wrong forum.
