What cassettes do peaple like these days ....


for recording ? on my Nak 682 zx , and where is the best place to buy them ? I will be recording off of my records and FM . Are there differences in tone or qualities that I can consider in making a choice .

Nope. Minidisc will blow it away.
Uraniumcommittee, nope. Mini-disc loses to cassette on both the top and bottom end.
I heard some minidisc tracks made from cd we used breifly with our pa system, they were terrible. tizzy, thin, no warmth.
cassettes were in the grave for five years TEN YEARS AGO.
I threw out my tape player and the cassettes back then
Around the time the recordable CD became popular.
The main reason to abandon cassettes is the restricted timing factor. It was a P.I.T.A. to arrange music to fit the cassette. With CD it is never a problem. Ditto accessing a track.
I suppose you still use VHS too..
