Who has used a PMR?

Do these add quality value as a tweak? Thanks in advance for your input.

I have made a D.I.Y version that I use in my 2 channel system. I use a 8 1/2, and and a 10 inch round Aluminum lamp shade. Thus the name was born " Sound Shade". I do have them modded with solid brass cap on a solid copper fitting in the center hole where the light bulb would be.

The D.I.Y Sound shades work just the way Rnwong described. My knock-off D.I.Y version both open's up the sound field and focus the music. The sweet spot is much larger and detailed. There is just way more music coming at you.

If removed you will want to put them right back in. The difference is that noticeable. I have pictures of them if you click on my system.

Without the copper fitting and the Brass cap on the end they do not sound nearly as good. There's a tweak or two you can do to make them work even better. If mine work this good, I know the original must work just as good if not better.
I just got one of these in my system. It works - better focus, voices are more clear and separation is better. I have a big TV between my main speakers and this works much better than having to move the TV. Still playing with positioning. I have a very resolving system, made even better by this little device.
i have one, and feel that piano music seems to have a sparkle to it when it is in place. Placement of the PMR makes a big difference. I found slightly behind the speaker plane worked best for me. In front of the speakers did not do much for me .

I just picked one up on Audiogon for a reasonable price.

I must say all of the reviews are true and accurate - greater clarity, detail resolution, timber... as well as... a more realistic, expanded soundstage.  Brass and strings have more bite, shimmer, etc.  Bass seems more solid, better defined.

I'm pleased it is most definitely not a scam.  Definitely worth the price I paid... and... I'd probably agree even at the MSRP.  It's really pretty amazing how these things can make the difference they do.  Don't understand it, but they do.

Though... I was tempted to try the much less expensive "brass singing bowls" you can find on various sites on the internet, or a drum cymbal.  Finally, the many review recommendations got to me, and I found one at a more reasonable price here.  Very pleased that I did.
