| Modwright SWL9.0 SE Tube Rolling I have the T-Sol 5687s, and they are very good tubes, but they are bit too edgy and SS-like for my tastes, and I always find myself rolling them out. But I've heard these work very well in other systems, however. Go figure! The GE JAN 7044s have mo... | |
| Modwright SWL 9.0SE Pre ... your thoughts welcome Sure Grant, you asked for tubes that are tonally warmer than the T-Sols, so here they are, imho, of course. I have the T-Sol 5687s, and they are very good tubes, but they are bit too edgy and SS-like for my tastes, and I always find myself rolling... | |
| Modwright SWL 9.0SE Pre ... your thoughts welcome Hey Grant, this could be it's own thread. Anyways, I'm using Sylvania Gold Brand 5687s right now, and GE JAN 7044s work very well too. I already have 7044s on my Modwright 9000es, and found that the 7044s on both was WAY too much of a good thing. | |
| The song you just cant stop playing??? "Imagine" - Eva Cassidy. Could listen to it all day long. | |
| Power Cord for my McCormack DNA-500 I used a DCCA power cable with my DNA-500 when I had it, and it was a great match. Don of DCCA has some cables listed now that he's selling as demos, so ping him to see what you can get in your price range. The Extreme REF worked very well, being ... | |
| First Sound Preamp Owner's - What NOS tubes????? When I owned a FS preamp, I really liked the Philips SQ E188CC tubes. Very well balanced tubes. | |
| Thoughts on Egglestonworks Andra II Audioblazer...I agree with Bob above. It takes a lot of power to drive the Andras happily, to their fullest capabilities. 24 watts may drive the tops if you bi-amp, but there's no way the SET amp will drive and control the bass drivers. BTW, the A... | |
| Playing CDRs on a Sony SCD-777ES If your 777es is anything like my 9000es (I would venture to guess "yes"), then I may have a solution for you. I also thought that my 9000es would not play CD-Rs based on the research that I've done on the threads here and elsewhere. It turns out (... | |
| How to clean BAT CDP? If memory serves me right, from when I used to own the BAT player....Pick a long duration CD and insert in the player. Cue it up to play the last cut. While playing, hit the stand-by button, then turn it off. This will allow the laser head to be v... | |

| How should I ship these babies? Pack them up and put them back on the pallets if you can. Have Bax Global move them for you, but I don't think they pick up from residential addresses. You may need to take them to work with you, or drop them off at Bax near you. | |
| Is There A Moveable Base To Easily Voice Speakers? Use the teflon disks or squares that are sold at Home Depot or any other hardware store. You'd be amazed how easily the speakers or other heavy objects will slide with these things on the bottoms. |
