RCprince - maybe Bob at highdeftapetransfers.com can sell your tracks for you. You should email him.Sidssp - These tracks can be played from iTunes on a MAC. You may have to uncompress them first to .wav using the tool that is on the highdef website.

TVAD - you must convert it to 16/44.1 first and then you can write a playable disk. There are a number of tools you can buy, but this one is free:http://www.voxengo.com/downloads/?highlight=r8brainHere is another:http://www.adobe.com/products/audi...
Is USB overrated as decent digital source?
The Konnekt24D is powered from the firewire cable, which is the computers power. Have you changed this to battery or external power?I have no experience with firewire converters, but the others in this industry say that the firewire chips are very...
Is USB overrated as decent digital source?
Mikechai - No. 1 is the most costly, but well worth it, particularly the Superclock4.BTW - I demonstrated my new I2S reclocker, the Pace Car at THE Show two weeks ago in Las Vegas. It's amazing how much of a difference it makes when the jitter is ...
Your top ten CD transport???
Gammajo - the mods take it to world-class. Better imaging, dynamics and bass. Bass is the one thing that is hard to get out of this DAC. Great clarity and HF extension too.send this customer an email and he will describe it:baulsaudio@cox.netSteve...
Your top ten CD transport???
Tabl10s - Some transports are capable of I2S output, others are not. It is possible to add I2S to some. I would highly recommend the Northstar transport if you dont have one yet. The Transport is around $2K new and with $300 in mods, it will astou...
Today's Transport War: Significant Differences?
Jsadurni - too bad about your experience with the SB. I have found that USB audio is much better quality than Wi-Fi (even though I sell an Off-Ramp Wi-Fi), but dont expect miracles if you buy a cheap converter. USB audio can outperform most transp...
Today's Transport War: Significant Differences?
Alex - I dont know what you mean by "Noiseball", but I do know that once you remove the digital and analog conversions from a typical computer chassis, whether it is using USB or Wi-Fi, this provides the opportunity to generate an extremely low ji...

Drubin - with a computer external converter, the power supply can be just as quiet, whether it is USB or Wi-Fi.Steve N.Empirical Audio
Advice on Setting Up A Laptop-Based Audio System?
Gonglee3 - ASIO4ALL is only for S/W drivers that do not accept an ASIO plug-in. Drivers that can accept the plug-in should use ASIO plug-in, not ASIO4ALL. I have heard that ASIO4ALL is actually an ASIO emulator using Kernel streaming.
any one have direct exp with hi-end hard drive?
These are generally called "music servers". The hard drive is only a place to store the data. It does not "play" from the hard drive like a CD plays from a Transport. The memory player and the Zero-one are the only ones that I would consider high-e...
Today's Transport War: Significant Differences?
Seandtaylor99 - EAC does a great job of ripping. Foobar2000 and SRC do a great job of upsampling. I much prefer this to spinning CD's because of the lower jitter and superior sound quality.Steve N.Empirical AudioManufacturer
Your top ten CD transport???
"Steve, when one is using the Northstar transport, it is necessary to use a DAC with I2S input to get the best results.?"It will outperform all S/PDIF transports using I2S after it is modded. That is probably enough motivation to use I2S."What do ...
Your top ten CD transport???
Gammajo - The Northstar Transport and DAC both get I2S mods to improve the speed and edge-rates and eliminate reflections. This alone makes a big difference in the I2S. Then I do a lot of analog, power mods and PC board improvements to the 192 DAC...
Today's Transport War: Significant Differences?
Pardales - A CD-Rom based CD player is actually just a computer-based system. Maybe we are arguing semantics. I believe what Alex is arguing is something entirely different though. I just cannot figure out what it is....Steve N.
