| Starting Over...Need help finding the perfect integrated to replace everything A used Luxman L-590AX should be right at the $4000 mark for a pristine example. No DAC, though. | |
| Paradigm Persona series Regarding the grill price, anything designed and manufactured in a multi-million dollar facility has to reflect that in the price. To do otherwise is unrealistic. | |
| Paradigm Persona series Audiotroy, thanks for your comment. In the past, I always left the system on on, 24/7. The L-590 is the first Class A amp I've ever owned, it gets fairly warm. Not hot, but pretty warm. I'm not comfortable leaving it on constantly. Am I worrying ... | |
| Paradigm Persona series Thanks. Without knowing more, I'd like the option of leaving the 509 on, 24/7, which I don't do the the 590. It's really a non-issue, and I love the 590. | |
| Paradigm Persona series greginnh303 posts12-31-2018 5:02am@brrgrr I have owned the Luxman L-590AX Class A integrated (not MK II). It is a wonderful, full featured integrated. I went on a huge trek to see what I could find to better that integrated. I tried Esoteric F05,... | |
| Dealing with a power amp that need 20A connection Jim, that looks great. When I built my shop, I used the pig-tail method on every outlet in the place, workshop, garage, and upstairs office. My thinking was that if I had an issue with an outlet, I wanted it confined to the one device, rather than... | |
| Dealing with a power amp that need 20A connection Jim, I'm curious to hear your thoughts on pig-tailed vs. daisy-chained wiring of outlets, if you have the time. Not necessarily per audio requirements, but in general. TIA | |
| Buying my 1st new LP in 42 years..Suggestions? my suggestion is get a couple.... | |

| To buy grounded or not to buy grounded. That is the question. The term I haven’t seen in this thread yet is "Double Insulated". In any power tool, you might see a typical three-prong plug, or only a two-prong plug. In the latter, the tool is often labeled as double-insulated, meaning that it has been designe... | |
| Paradigm Persona series In all the speaker threads I've read here (maybe not enough yet), I've never seen any mention of what I would think would be a very important factor. How good is the owner's hearing? I mean, it's not like our hearing remains constant throughout ou... | |
| Lowering House Grounding Impedance Jim, interesting, and I don't know the answers. I wish I had a better understanding of the real world differences and interactions of the grounded (neutral) and grounding conductors. Thanks for the link, I'll check back. | |
| What amps should I audition? Here's a new demo unit of the previous version, and some details. On a Higher Note used to be the main Luxman dealer in the U.S., I believe.https://onahighernote.com/shop/integrated-amps/luxman-l-590ax-pure-class-a-integrated-amp/ | |
| What amps should I audition? You should do some research online, but the new 509 is a class AB configuration, and the 590 is listed as class A, it’s spec’d at 30W@8ohms, but actually measures nearer 90W. It was Luxman’s top of the line until the new 509 was introduced. Now I’... | |
| Lowering House Grounding Impedance What you described is the code requirement currently, as I understand it. The grounding connection is a safety requirement. Barring an electrical issue, it shouldn't be doing anything at all. Again, that's how I understand it. |
